Smelling the roses

If truth be told my house is a mess at the moment. I have stuff crammed in every nook and cranny. I could show you some photos but maybe you have your own mess (tell me you do) or maybe you don't. You might be one of those super organised people. I am not.

So what to do when feeling overwhelmed by the cleaning, washing, folding, cooking...and that's before I get to the nook and crannies.
You pick flowers. Yep you pick flowers with your littlest love and make a happy space.

Little Miss had a lovely time arranging her flowers and I had a lovely time watching. After she had them carefully arranged in 3 then 4 then 5 jars- I set them up on the dining table on an old piece of wood I had previously salvaged from the wood heap at the inlaws place. It's actually a lovely minty green with a lot of character.

Sometimes arranging some flowers and snapping a few photos is just enough to fill my creative cup!
Now I am off to tackle the mess but every once and a while I'll look over at my happy place and stop to smell the roses.

What is making you happy today?
Do you have roses at your place?
Is your place a mess like mine?

Yep mess everywhere at my place. In fact the master bed is completed covered in clean unfolded laundry. I did though spend most of the weekend tackling the kids rooms for a toy cull, and cleaned out the spare room as my bestie is coming from overseas to stay with me for 2 nights tonight, yippe, so it's the cleanest my house has been in about 2 years! Love the flower arranging, she did a wonderful job and that would give me so much joy too. mel x

Oh yes mess here too. Most flat surfaces seem to attract it by the pile full.
Your photos are pure lovely. And your sweet little one did a very good job in the floral arranging.

hehe, my house is not a mess, it is a bomb! We arrived home from the Royal Children's Hospital on Sunday - and I am tackling the washing, dishes and cooking and continue to nurse my boy.... that is my excuse... I don't have any roses.... but a beautiful new bunting adorning a window in our dining room from a lovely lady! xxx It made my day opening a parcel when I got home from my week in hospital! Thanks Lea xx

Today, I am totally overwhelmed by the mess – there was an incident involving a toddler and flour and rice and salt and blueberries this morning, while I was getting dressed. He's fast, my boy.

Those roses are beautiful, Little Miss has a good eye.

We have some roses right now as well.

Mess? What are you talking about Lea? The little bit of your home you've shared with us looks lovely. There's not an inkling of the mess that may be to the left or right of it. Ha-ha!

You want to see mess? Jump on a plane and head over to Perth! I'll show you mess!!!

Gorgeous roses, gorgeous kiddo x

Those flowers are just gorgeous!
yes my house is a bit more than a *bit* of a mess at the moment: I tidied the lounge room, shifted some things down to the garage and just shut the doors on all the other rooms!!

I closed the kids rooms doors just then and ignored the mess. I never do that but today I just can't face it.
love those photos of Lu and your pretty flowers. Wish I was there having a cupping with you while you clean your mess.

Just discovered your blog. Your house looks amazing and so do the roses. Their colour against the colour of the dining chairs is just incredible. Don't worry about the mess, plenty of that here too! xx
