Holiday thrifting

Before we left on our trip, I worded the Mr up about stopping at op shops and markets along the way. I gave him good warning that I wanted to stop when I spotted something of interest. He couldn't believe my ability to spot a salvo's or a vinnies sign from afar. He is a patient man indeed. Sometimes I scooted in quickly while he looked after the gang. Other times we made a morning of it and visited a number of oppies. I really had my heart set on some milkglass but unfortunately no such luck!
These lovely treasures made their way home with me nonetheless.

Cheerful Johnson set, new to me design.
Glass apple dish...perfect for this dip and some delicious fruit pieces.
Doilies
Children's book. Love the saturated colours in the illustrations.
Pillow case
Floral sheet

Loads of books were also thrifted, read along the way and donated back at the next oppy. Mostly by our little bookworm, Miss Bella.

I also added another little cloche to the collection. This was purchased at Alittle Antique in Port Macquarie. It's a gorgeous little shop. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Port Maquarie was the last place we visited before heading home so this made for a lovely keepsake of our travels, I think.

Have you been thrifting lately?
I am finding the treasure hunting a bit hit and miss these days.

The next piece of milk glass I find is for you Lea.

I remember receiving birthday cards just like that pillow slip...it's a Betsy Johnson isn't it? Much sweeter than Holly Hobbie (I reckon, anyway...)

It's funny how checking out local op-shops has become such a big part of our holidays isn't it?

Oh if I'd known you were headed to Port Macquarie I would've given you the details of all the oppies there- there's 8 or so.
Love the Johnson set, and hope you find some milk glass to add to the collection soon.

It's been a while since I've seen any milk glass either but it has been a while since I've done any op shopping, I must try and get out to do some. I love your little travel keepsake, it's beautiful Lea. x

I haven't been opping as much lately either, I seem to find milk glass 2 or 3 at a time then none for months. And holiday oppies are just the best- we do the same with the books. mel x17

Op shopping is always hit and miss but fortunately the misses don't feel as bad as the hits feel great! Nice finds. Blessings, Fi xxx
