A splash of colour

This piece belonged to my Nonna and for as long as I can remember it was in the shed with nuts and bolts. My Dad off loaded it to me ages ago and I decided to give it a lick of paint the other day. As you can see it is without a top and I am hoping you crafty peeps can offer up some suggestions. Does it need a top? Just a piece of wood. Could I turn it into a pincushion top? I would love your thoughts.

They look like drawers from an old Singer sewing machine Lea, so I reckon a pin cushion top would be perfect. Like your new blog name (it is new isn't it, or have I just noticed?) x

Ooh they are gorgeous, and a pin cushion top is an inspired idea! Like the new blog name too, it bounces off the tongue lovely x

Yes I noticed the new blog name too. And I like it.
The turquoise colour s stunning.
A pin cushion top is a great idea. A red fabric with white polka dots might contrast nicely.

Oh, a pincushion top is a cool idea! Either that or an old weathered piece of timber. But I think the pincushion would be cool!
