Microwave Jenny

On the weekend my gorgeous nephew dropped by. Here he is taking Lulu for a ride on the motorbike a couple of months ago.

Most of the time though, you'll find him playing the drums because he's a drummer boy.

Recently he's been on tour with Microwave Jenny. They are a husband and wife duo and they are just so cute and their music is awesome. They describe their music as pop/folk/love. I am loving every bit of them but this one is my favourite. Be warned...it's catchy.

Have you heard of Microwave Jenny?
What are you listening to at the moment?

Untitled

While travelling, we dropped into the lovely town of Bangalow to visit Heaths Old Wares.
Vintage heaven. Truly. Add it to your 'must do list' if you are ever in the Byron Shire. Shelves upon shelves of lovliness. You won't find any op shop prices here but if you are after something special, this is the place.

I have long wanted a printers tray and they are just so rare in my neck of the woods. I had been watching a few on ebay so when I spotted a stack of them at Heaths....well the rest is history.

Because we were at the beginning of our trip I knew the Mr wouldn't let me buy it-space in the Tardis being the issue, so 6 weeks later as we were heading South, we made another visit to Heaths Old Wares to buy my tray. I am beyond thrilled.

After a bit of googling, I discovered a plethora of wonderful information all about the company and it's history.

A second little treasure was picked up at Heaths... the humble Fowlers jar!
I am getting quite a collection and I have not come across this size before.

I hope you are having a lazy Sunday!

Home sweet home

We arrived home close to midnight but despite the darkness we immediately noticed the growth in our front garden. We left  the end of Winter garden as we departed on our little adventure and now 7 weeks later, Spring is in full force. My favourite season. Our little boy love was born on the first day of Spring and ever since it has been my favourite season.

The next morning I pottered about the garden in my jarmies snapping pictures of this and that.

My dear friend Annie gave me this little cutting and we found it a temporary home in the pot of orchids. It definately needs a home of it's own now!

And the orchids! They make me so very happy.

My mama gave me a pot of orchids many years ago...maybe nearly 20. They came from my Nonna's orchids. I have since split the bulbs time and time again and have gifted some to special friends. The vase also belonged to my Nonna. As a little girl she always said it was for me. Back then, I never particularly loved it, mainly because it has a big chip in the top. These days I love it, chip and all!

Hello!

We've been travelling around Queensland for a little while. It's been fantastic! I've been keeping a travel blog but I have missed this little space and checking in on your blogs.

Lady Musgrave Island
After six and a bit weeks away, we are on the home stretch now.
Let me officially inroduce you to our dodgy old caravan. She's affectionately known as the Tardis (of Dr Who fame)

Tardis Pronunciation: /ˈtɑːdɪs/
Definition of Tardis

noun

  • 1a time machine.
  • 2a building or container that is larger inside than it appears to be from outside.

Origin:

the name (said to be an acronym of time and relative dimensions in space) of a time machine which had the exterior of a police telephone box in the British TV science-fiction series Doctor Who, first broadcast in 1963

SOURCE

We're obviously running with number 2. The Tardis was discovered on a friend of a friends farm and hadn't been used for sometime. $1250 later, a few additions, some tlc and she was ready for a road trip.
